Our Invisible Helpers

I went for a walk in the park today. I got out of the car and started to walk and it smelled like rain. So after walking for about 50 m I decided to go back to the car and get my waterproof jacket. And I was on my way again, walking in the beautiful nature of the park.
As I was walking I came across a group of 5 bikers (ages from about 9 to 40). They were off the main road on a dirt road and as they were making a steep turn in the road the little one, about 9, fell and hurt himself and started crying.
All of a sudden all the other bikers surrounded him and started telling him that it's nothing, he'll be alright, it was just a small fall, that they were there to help him and many other such comments. The eldest one (maybe the father) reached out and offered his hand to the little one, so he could get up, but the little one refused his help and refused to get up and continued crying.
So the 'father' got off his bike and bent down and picked the little one off the ground continuing to tell him that it's nothing and that he'll be alright.

At that moment I had a profound image in my head of us and our spiritual helpers (be they angels, guides or anything else). They are always looking out for us and they always offer their help and reach out to lift us up, but we usually don't realise this or refuse their help. Looking back at the group of bikers who were still surrounding the little one, I 'saw' that they all had 'wings' flapping around the boy, creating a safe space for him.
We all fall down at different times in our lives and need assistance getting up. And yes, sometimes we even hurt ourselves and have wounds from the fall. What is important is to KNOW that you are always surrounded by spiritual helpers who are ready to help you if you accept their help. They are always reaching out their 'hands' to lift you up. Most of us act like the little boy though, we stay on the ground and continue to cry and refuse the help.
There comes a time in our life when we learn to open up to these spiritual helpers and accept their assistance and that is when we no longer focus on the fall and the wounds, but instead we focus on the lesson and growth from it.
